What was Sean Avery thinking?

4 April 2009 No Comments

I am at a loss of words after watching today’s game between the Boston Bruins and New York Rangers. With the Rangers trailing the Bruins 1-0 in the third period, with less than ten minutes left to play, Sean Avery decides that he should skate by Bruins goalie Tim Thomas during a commercial break and “inadvertently” clip the back of Thomas’ helmet with his stick.

I don’t understand the logic to why he did it. Maybe someone can explain it to me. His team is fighting for a playoff spot and they are only down by one goal. How would performing such an action help his team in any way? If anything, such an action would only want Boston to play even harder. Sean Avery is a moron and that’s final. I thought there was hope for the guy after his sabbatical from hockey but I guess I was wrong. One thing I know foresure is that after watching today’s game between these two teams, it would make for one heck of a playoff series.
