Northeast Division: Wilson guarantees he’ll coach big games in ‘10.

6 April 2009 No Comments

ron wilsonWell, one way or another we now know that Toronto head coach Ron Wilson will be coaching meaningful games in the winter of 2010.

While we don’t know how his Maple Leafs will fare in their first full season under general manager Brian Burke, but Wilson will be coaching the U.S. National team at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver.

Opinion: I don’t get this selection at all. Wilson is a good coach, but with Peter Laviolette out there and unemployed he would’ve made sense as a guy with real time to devote to the cause. Not to mention he’s a more affable fellow.

Elsewhere in the division:

•Montreal might have some major holes on defense tonight, so they called up veteran blueliner Doug Janik.

•Buffalo needs help to get into the playoffs.

•Maple Leafs forward Brad May will skate in his 1,000th career game.
