It’s not often that Dallas Stars goaltender Marty Turco is made to look as helpless as he was on Friday night.
On the Ducks’ fourth shootout attempt, Teemu Selanne skated in, came to a stop and lifted the puck over Turco, who was on his side and did a two-pad stack to no avail.
It ended up as the game winner.
NHL rules regarding shootouts/penalty shots have dictated that the puck must be moving forward, although there seems to be an interpretation that it is legal if either the puck or the player is moving forward.

Kevin Stevens was the premiere power forward in the NHL from 1990-1994 (190 goals, 218 assists), and as we all know a 2 time Stanley Cup winner.

Kasparaitis is one of the all-time favorites of yours truly. I hated him when he played for the Islanders.
But was thrilled when the Penguins acquired him (November 17th, 1996 for Bryan Smolinski). Of course we all know the epic hit he laid out on Lindros, and while that was what he’s most famous for, don’t forget that he also had that series winning overtime goal against Buffalo and one Mr. Dominik Hasek.
