If you would’ve told me 3 hours ago that Simeon Varlamov would give up just 1 goal, I would’ve made the assumption that the Caps would win. One problem… Henrik Lundqvist was in net for New York in their 1-0 win on Saturday. And he was on fire! Washington had so many chances (35 shots) to get one past King Henrik. Ovechkin again did all he could to try to lead his team to victory… 6 shots, 10 more shots blocked/missed, and 5 hits. But the rest of the Caps …

Freeze … Don’t Move … Stop - I like the standings the way they are!
The way it looks right now, Montreal would finish in seventh place and would play the second place Washington Capitals. This is the one matchup that Montreal can take advantage of.
They wouldn’t beat the Devils in the first round. Their scorers are too good, their checkers can cause major headaches for the new Tanguay – Koivu – Kovalev line and their defense is too suffocating. Oh, and they also have the best goalie in the world.

You can’t say that Alex Ovechkin isn’t the most entertaining player in the NHL. This guy is the face of the league and the best Russian player since the departure of Pavel Bure. But one has to wonder, did Ovechkin take his antics too far. Some players think it’s great, however, many others have a different opinion on the matter.
