It’s just not fair…

I had a feeling this could happen… St. Louis just cannot solve Roberto Luongo! The Canucks’ captain is currently playing on a different universe. The red pipe has been favorable for him, but he’s made some monstrous saves in the first 2 games of this series. Andy McDonald is especially wondering how he hasn’t beaten Luongo yet. Every time the Blues think they’re about to get one, he’s a step ahead and in position to make the save. Luongo is just unbelievable right now. Since Vancouver’s home loss to the …

Luongo a postseason shutout hero.

Can you believe that perennial All-Star goaltender Roberto Luongo never had a playoff shutout before last night? Well, his 30-save performance in a 2-0 Game 2 win over St. Louis was his inaugural venture into playoff blanking history. Elliot Pap has the complete recap.

Congrats to the Blues!

As the waning moments died down in St. Louis tonight, it sank in that my beloved Preds were officially done. But I will say… I’m happy for the Blues. They worked their asses off in the last 3 months to get to this point. If Nashville is going to get knocked out by someone, it might as well be to a team that earned it (even though its a division rival). St. Louis, you earned it… and to that, I congratulate you.
On January 19, the Blues played a matinee game …

Two great stories battling it out!

At the All-Star break in late January, could you have ever imagined that the St. Louis Blues and Nashville Predators would be battling for the 8th and final spot in the Western Conference!? Yeah, that’s what I thought. Last year’s late-season story was the Capitals, as they stormed back from outta nowhere to surpass Carolina for the division. This year, we’ve got two of them.
The Preds and Blues were 14th and 15th in the West, respectively, at the break. They were dead in the water, even though they were within …
