Devils’ struggles continue
Whatever you think of New Jersey’s recent 6-game losing streak, you can’t put the blame on Marty Brodeur. His defense in front of him has been non-Devil like. They’re giving up nearly 36 shots a game in the last 8 games, which they’ve lost 7. Also, the offense has run dry as they’ve scored a grand total of 7 goals during this losing streak. And it’s interesting to point out that these struggles have come immediately after Brodeur’s celebratory 552nd win.

New recipes stirs up tasty results for Bruins’ PP.

Some might look at Boston Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara’s move to the second power-play unit as a demotion, but head coach Claude Julien stressed after his club’s enormous 4-1 win over New Jersey today at TD Banknorth Garden that he made some changes to his power-play units for “the right reasons.”

Bruins will try to avoid becoming part of Brodeur’s records.

Every time a team loses to New Jersey goaltender Martin Brodeur from now until the time he retires, that club will add to his already-record for all-time victories.
Today at TD Banknorth Garden, the Bruins will try to avoid not only adding to Brodeur’s total of 553 wins, but also aboud helping him move closer to all the all-time record for shutouts — which he is two shy of with 101 on his ledger.

An unbreakable record?

After playing his 987th NHL game Tuesday, Martin Brodeur has earned the right to call himself the winningest goalie of all-time. Brodeur picked up his 552nd career win when the New Jersey Devils defeated the Chicago Blackhawks by a score of 3-2.
